Welcome to MondouCu!

When dog first came into the human world there were not houses, there were caves. There were no doors and no neighbors... people lived together as clans. People would hunt for their dinner and after hours of hunting they would finally celebrate with a fire and food. People were hungry, they were tired and although they were inclined to share with their clan, they were not inclined to share with a scavenger like the dog.

At some point the dog learned if he stood near enough to the circle of people and was quiet someone eventually took pity upon him and threw him a scrap of food. Dog would lay at the edge of the people and soak in a little warmth from the fire. As the nights grew colder dog came closer and eventually sat next to man sharing his warmth with the man. The man was content because the dog was warmer than the man and the man allowed the dog to stay near him, eventually inviting him to lay next to him through the night to keep him warm.

But still, the dog was a scavenger and would go through the camp stealing food. This made the clan upset and there was talk of making the dog leave the camp. Then one night... the man’s wife decided that if she fed the dog a portion of food and not just the scraps that the dog would be content and would no longer steal. She did this for a month and for a month, the dog did not steal and the clan agreed that the dog could stay.

As the winter progressed and other animals began to invade the caves the dog chased them away and the clan realized there was actually a purpose for the dog to remain. Winter was hard for the clan, it always had been. Food which had been stored was carefully rationed so everyone would have enough to survive until Spring returned. This winter there was a little more food than there had been in the past because the dog had kept the other animals from raiding the food supply.

Spring came and it was time to hunt again. As the men left to hunt for food, the women stayed behind with the children to gather roots. Dog remained with the women and protected them from the other animals. The children of the clan would run and play and the dog ran with them and while the children were throwing stones in to the water, the dog jumped in and brought a stone back to one of the children. The child picked up the stone and threw it again and the dog again brought it back to the child. The children were so excited by this that they tried throwing other objects and learned that the dog would bring those things back too.

The children excitedly showed their parents what the dog could do that night while they were eating and the clan became more fond of the dog. It wasn’t long before other dogs were allowed into the clan and man found use of them.

So was the beginning of the relationship between human and dog. Through the years we have modified the dog to become the many breeds that are today. Each breed has strengths and weaknesses... but they still maintain the manipulative traits they always have. By working with these manipulative traits we change behaviors we don’t want and replace them with behaviors we want.

Our methods are time honored and proven... they are not the latest fad or heavy handed, they are fair and understood by the dogs on a basic level. We are here to help you bridge the communication gap between you and your dog allowing you to have a happier, healthier and more enjoyable relationship with your dog. Whether it’s our group classes or private training, we measure our success upon your relationship. Please join us in making your relationship with your dog the absolute best it can be.
